Volunteer Opportunities
MagiKids is a rapidly growing volunteer-run organization. There is always a need for more volunteers with a variety of different skill sets.
Listed below are some of the ways in which you can help out, but if you have other skills you can bring to the table, we encourage you to get in contact with us! We’ll take any help we can get in bringing Magic to more kids across North America.
Volunteer Opportunities List:
MagiKids Teacher
We are always on the lookout for more teachers and mentors to run MagiKids groups in their local communities. Whether you’re just getting started or have an established group already, we want to support you however we can.
The Next Step:
Check out our MagiKids Teacher Resource Center to read the getting started guide, learn more about the program, and apply for a MagiKids kit (it’s quick and easy).
Resource Article Writer
We want our website to serve as a hub for anyone teaching youth how to play Magic. We’d love for anyone currently doing so to write about their experiences so we can share them! Sharing any obstacles you overcame or helpful tricks you learned could be invaluable to other teachers.
We could also use articles talking about the effects that Magic has on kids. These can be from teachers, parents, judges- anyone in the community who can speak to the benefits of teaching this game.
The Next Step:
If you know what you want to write, great! Go ahead and write it up, and send it to us via email.
If you have any questions you need answered before writing, no sweat. Just hop on over to our contact page, and get in touch with us however it’s most convenient for you!
MagiKids Booth Volunteers
MagiKids attends MagicFests and other large events as far of our outreach and fundraising efforts. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help run the joint MagiKids/ Weirdcards booth, to supplement our core group of volunteers and allow us to attend more distant MagicFests.
Volunteers will need to be able to answer questions about both organizations, be able to handle donation transactions, and help set up or tear down the booth.
The Next Step:
If you think you are a good fit to help us run the MagiKids booth at an upcoming MagicFest you’re attending, visit our contact us page and get in touch with us. We’ll let you know whether or not we’ll be able to attend that event. We’ll also follow up with you to make sure you’re a good fit.
If we don’t attend your MagicFest this year, don’t give up- the way the Magic community is embracing MagiKids, who knows where we’ll go next year!
Email and Event Content Writer
We’re in search of someone to write email updates, as well as keep to keep our website up to date with Events. You can take on one or both of these roles.
You’ll be handed all the information you need- we simply need someone to stay on top of these updates, and send them out in a timely fashion!
The Next Step:
Visit our contact us page, and get in touch with us however is most convenient for you. Just mention your interest in this role, and we’ll go from there!
Didn’t find a volunteer role that struck your interest? That’s ok! There are plenty of ways you can get involved outside of giving your time- check out our Get Involved page for more ideas! If you want to volunteer but have a different idea of how you can help, feel free to contact us.
Thank you for your interest!
